    Mother Nature forced all three Clinton County League contests to one field on Sunday with the trio of games being played in Aviston.
    The regular season got a jumble effect when Beckemeyer upset Bartelso and the Aviston Aces were swept by Bartelso and Trenton.
    Trenton sits atop the league standings with a 4-3 record while Bartelso and Aviston are square at 5-4 with Beckemeyer checking in at 2-5.
    The teams will take this weekend off for the Fourth of July holiday before coming back to action on Sunday, July 12 with four games on the schedule.

They rebounded to beat Aviston in the second game.    Trenton 8, Aviston 6:  The Aces’ bats went silent over the final three innings in their home loss on Sunday at The Hill.
    Aviston managed just three hits on the afternoon while they committed three of the game’s four fielding errors.  They were handed eight free passes in the loss.  The game featured 15 walks.
    Brent Timmons had a double for Aviston while Austin Rakers and Carter Truong each had singles for their three hits.  Chase Lewis walked twice while Rakers pilfered a base.
    Reed Braundmeier was saddled with the loss as he went the distance and allowed seven earned runs on eight hits, seven walks and eight punch outs.
    Jonathan Barnes was the man on offense for the Miners with two doubles, a single, a walk, a run scored and two batted in.  Drew Frey added two singles, two runs scored and an RBI.
    Harrison Rakers and Owen Szpila each walked twice and scored two runs.  Reid Hendrickson had three RBI.  Johnny Hilmes had a single and two stolen bases.
    Brady Maltbie was the winning pitcher in relief of Conner Riggs.  Maltbie went 4-2/3 innings and allowed one earned run on two hits, six walks and two strikeouts.
    Aviston, the visiting team on the scoreboard, got two runs in the top of the first inning, despite just having one hit.
    Austin Rakers and Chase Lewis walked while Truong singled to load the bases.  Timmons walked for a 1-0 lead before Drew Potthast cashed in a sacrifice fly for a 2-0 lead.
    Trenton scratched two runs in the bottom of the inning with the help of some miscues from the Aces.
    Harrison Rakers led off with a walk before Szpila singled to the right side.  Hendrickson reached on an error in the infield for the first run.  Barnes doubled in the other run as the game was square 2-2 after one.
    Aviston took a 5-2 lead in the top of the third inning when Brock Hill, Potthast and Lucas Deimeke each walked with one out.  Levi Brening was hit by a pitch for a 3-2 lead before Griffin Thomas walked for a 4-2 lead.  Austin Rakers followed with an RBI ground out off Maltbie, to give Aviston a 5-2 lead.
    Trenton chipped away from there with a single from Frey to lead off the bottom of the third inning before scoring on another double from Barnes to get within 5-3 after three innings of play.

    Aviston got their three-run lead back with a walk to Lewis to start the fourth inning before Timmons doubled him in for a 6-3 lead.  The Aces’ bats went scoreless the rest of the way.
    Hilmes started a rally in the bottom of the fourth with a single to the left side before Harrison Rakers and Szipla each walked to load the bases.  Hendrickson got an RBI ground out before Harrison Rakers scored on a wild pitch for a 6-5 deficit for the Miners.
    Trenton stole the win in the bottom of the sixth inning when Szpila walked before scoring on a Frey single and a throwing error from the Aces to tie the game at 6-6.  Hendrickson cashed in an RBI sacrifice fly for a 7-6 lead.  Phil Berberich followed with an RBI double for an 8-6 lead.
    Maltbie got two strikeouts and a pop out to end the contest.
Quality win — Bartelso outfielder Benny Lehman sends the ball in play in the Barts’ 9-2 win over Aviston on Sunday in CCL play. Lehman had a double, two walks and two batted in for the Barts in the victory. Both teams are now 5-4 on the season in second place.    Bartelso 9, Aviston 2:  The Barts earned a two-team split with a strong pitching performance and one big swing in the second of three games on Sunday in Aviston.
    Dalton Boruff was the story of the game as he tossed a complete-game where he allowed one earned run on four hits, four walks and eight punch outs in a 132-pitch effort with 81 of those being strikes.
    Meanwhile, Asher Cantu’s three-run bomb in the third inning gave the Barts a jolt and sparked a six-run frame to seal the win.
    Bartelso had nine hits with Cantu going 2-for-3 with a homer, a single, a walk, two runs scored and three batted in.  Braden Robertson was 2-for-4 with two singles and two runs scored.
    Boruff added two walks, a single, a run scored and one batted in.  Benny Lehman added a double, two walks, two RBI and a run scored in a game where Bartelso out hit the Aces 9-4.
Side winder — Aviston starter Ty Kueper sends in a curve ball in the Aces’ 9-2 loss to Bartelso on Sunday on The Hill. Kueper went three innings and struck out two in the first of two losses for Aviston on the day. They are 5-4 on the season in second place.    Brent Timmons paced Aviston with two singles while Austin Rakers and Chase Lewis each singled for the other two hits.
    Ty Kueper took the loss for Aviston, going three innings and allowed five earned runs on five hits, four walks and two punch outs.
    After two scoreless innings, the Barts took charge in the bottom of the third inning when Drake Wagner walked and Robertson singled with no outs.  Cantu cleared the right-field fence for a three-run homer and a 3-0 lead.
    They added three more runs in the inning when Lehman walked and Adam Munie singled for a 4-0 lead.  Garrick Winkeler chased in a run with two outs before Aidan Toennies singled in the sixth run of the  inning.
    Aviston got on the board in the top of the fourth inning when Carter Truong led off with a walk and later scored on a Timmons single as they trailed 6-1.
    The Aces got their other run in the fifth inning when Lucas Deimeke and Griffin Thomas each walked and Thomas scored on a ground out later in the inning as they trailed 6-2.
    Bartelso ended the contest with three insurance tallies in the sixth inning when Robertson singled with one out and Cantu walked.  Boruff followed with an RBI single before Lehman chased two runners home with a shot to the gap for a 9-2 lead.
    Boruff pitched around a walk in the seventh inning to close the contest out.
Have a day — Beckemeyer shortstop Cam Haag sends out one of his three hits in the Eagles’ 12-5 win over Bartelso on Sunday in Aviston. Haag was 3-for-5 with three singles, an RBI and three runs scored. Rain forced the game to Aviston instead of Bartelso.    Beckemeyer 12, Bartelso 4:  The Eagles soared to an upset win in the first of three games in Aviston on Sunday.
    The Barts struggled with the strike zone with 13 walks in the contest, with over half of those coming in the first three innings.
    The Eagles got three runs in the top of the first inning with four walks and just two singles from Cam Haag and Craig Oelze.
    Bartelso got an unearned run in the bottom of the inning after Braden Robertson started things with a double and Asher Cantu reached on an error.  Hayden Bugger followed with an RBI single to trail 3-1.
    Beckemeyer received two more walks in the second inning with a two-run double from Hayden Melone booming their lead to 6-1.
    Beckemeyer made it 7-1 in the top of the third inning with three walks and a wild pitch.
    The Eagles made it 8-1 when Oelze singled to start the fourth inning and later scored on a single from Brody Zobrist.
    Beckemeyer got another single tally in the sixth inning when they received three walks before another Zobrist single made it 9-1.
    Bartelso got three runs in the bottom of the inning after Dalton Boruff walked and scored on a Nolan Haake single.  Garrick Winkeler followed with a single of his own before Haake scored on a hit batter to Hayden Bugger.  Drake Curry followed with an RBI walk as they trailed 9-4.
    Beckemeyer added three insurance tallies in the top of the seventh inning when Gabe Schlimme walked, Haag singled, and Brock Timmermann smashed a homer to right field for a 12-4 cushion.
    Bartelso got one run in their final at bat after Boruff walked and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Winkeler.
    Haag had three singles for the Eagles who got three singles and three runs scored from Oelze.  
    Timmermann had three RBI while Zobrist was 2-for-2 with two singles, two walks and two RBI.  Schlimme pilfered two bases.
    Gerry Haake was the winning pitcher with six innings of work where he allowed three earned runs on six hits, three walks and five punch outs in 114 pitches.
    Adam Munie was the losing pitcher as he went into the third inning where he allowed seven earned runs on four hits and nine walks.  Robertson struck out six from the bullpen for Bartelso.
