The Breese Journal office will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. The deadline for news and advertising will be at noon on Friday, May 22, for the May 28 Breese Journal. Customers are urged to submit items early if possible.

Reunion planned for CCHC class of 1976
Central Community High School class of 1976 is planning a reunion for Friday, May 29, 7 p.m., at Bent Oak Golf Course in Breese. There will be a cash bar, and snacks will be provided. Also, a tour of Central High School will begin at 5 p.m. for anyone who is interested. Please spread the word!
Benefit golf tournament May 30 at Okawville
The annual Nick Bledsoe Memorial Scholarship Golf Scramble will be held Saturday, May 30, at Roland Barkau Memorial Golf Course in Okawville. The cost is $90 per player ($360/team), and includes 18 holes of golf with cart, free lunch, and an evening meal.The tee-off time is 1 p.m. The event will include a silent auction (open to public) at 6:30 p.m., a 50/50 drawing, and a gun raffle (tickets $10 each or three for $25). Quilt raffle to be held at Germantown
A raffle for 20 hand-quilted, queen-size quilts will be held Sunday, June 14, at St. Boniface Parish in Germantown. Only 500 tickets, at $25 each, will be sold, and if your ticket is drawn, it goes back in for another chance to win. To purchase a ticket, mail a check to: St. Boniface Parish, P.O. Box 280, Germantown, IL 62245, and include your name and a valid telephone number. If you want your ticket stub, include a self-addressed stamped envelope. Tickets also are available at Germantown Trust and Savings Banks in Bartelso, Breese and Germantown. Quilts can be viewed on St. Boniface Church website.
