Jansen Ford of Breese is helping fill the shelves of a local food pantry through a community food drive taking place now through Sept. 30.
The dealership is collecting nonperishable food, toiletries and other personal care items to benefit the community food pantry at Zion United Church of Christ in New Baden.
Requested donations include canned goods, pasta and other pantry staples, peanut butter, paper products, soap, shampoo, toothpaste and other personal care items. Any nonperishable food or toiletry donation is appreciated.
Organizers are encouraging residents to pick up an extra item while grocery shopping and drop it off at Jansen Ford of Breese during the collection period.
Zion UCC operates a community food pantry serving area individuals and families, including through monthly drive-through distributions held on the first Friday of each month.
The food drive is part of an effort to keep donations local, with every item collected going toward stocking the shelves of the Zion UCC pantry.
Donations may be dropped off at Jansen Ford of Breese through Wednesday, Sept. 30.
